Here’s a little teaser about our March Trail Blazer from a Q&A I did with Erin.

Q. What’s your full name and title.

Erin O'Malley. Leadership Consultant and Keynote Speaker.

Q. What you are going to share with us?

Q. Tell us something that would surprise us most to learn about you.

I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Panama. My site was on an island of 300 people off the coast of Panama, where I learned to live with no electricity, running water...and availability to ice cream.

Q. Why are you passionate about your work?

I get energized when I see the light bulbs go off for people when the realize the possibilities that exist when they realize the behaviors and actions they do daily--that they don't even realize--that shut down and shut off connection. I've lived a lot of places, worked with a lot of companies and groups, and the disasters I've seen in all of these areas are caused when there is no connection. When connection happens, the magic happens. I love being able to teach and help make that connection come to life.

Q. What’s the greatest lesson you’ve learned in business you would like to share with other women?

We have to fight harder to get our seat at the table. Those are the (current) facts. The lesson here is we can whine about it or move on and forget about it, or we can stand up and show up in a powerful way that shows our experiences, voices, and approach matter. I've learned, through much trial and error, how to navigate this environment to create impact and to stand in my integrity while doing so. This is a lesson I LOVE sharing with other women, because we can all do it.
