I had a chance to chat with Julie and ask her a few questions. Check out our conversation below:

Q: Tell us something that would surprise us most to learn about you.

My highschool basketball team played in a national tournament in San Antonio, TX.

Q: Why are you passionate about your work?

My passion is working with women. I love helping a woman see herself differently. So often we see ourselves so differently than those who love us see us. I want women to catch a glimpse of how their loved ones see them, through my lens. It’s an incredibly empowering experience and I’ve seen so many women gain a confidence through simply having a photoshoot. Watching someone come in to the studio completely nervous, going through professional hair & makeup and having a pamper session, then stepping in front of the camera and rocking her shoot never gets old! She leaves the studio on cloud nine and she hasn’t even seen her finished images yet (perhaps just a glance at the back of my camera). It’s the best job in the world.

Q: What’s the greatest lesson you’ve learned in business you would like to share with other women?

I have learned so much in the past few years in starting and running my business. I’ve learned a lot about myself in this process. Leaving my day job and starting my business was one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done, it’s also one of the most rewarding. If I would share just one lesson in all of this it would probably be to stay focus on serving others. My goal is to make this the most incredible experience for my clients, regardless of who they are or how mush they spend. I want them to be blown away and thrilled to pieces. If I stay focused on them, everything else falls into place.
