What Star Wars teaches us about our financial life

I read this wonderful article titled "Why You Should be Planning for 2019, Not 2018", and it got me thinking. I am not a huge Star Wars fan, but I can appreciate the vision George Lucas had (and dancing storm troopers). That man was a planner and almost 40 years later he is still reaping the benefits of what he started in the 70's.

The principle is simple: Don’t just plant a tree, plant an orchard.

Very few people plan this way. At least not without professional help..no not that kind of "professional help". You don't have to have a lot of money to get started, a money coach helps you build that wealth in the first place. How often do you plan each year based on what you are going to do the next year or the year after that? What about your daily choices? Do they align with your yearly goals?

Are you positioning yourself for the next 40 years to be AMAZING? Do your choices line up with the life you want?

Ask yourself:

Do you know your goals?

“I’m just a simple (wo)man trying to make my way in the universe.” — Jango Fett

Do your goals align with your values and do your values align with your budget?

“Every time I walked away from something I wanted to forget, I told myself it was for a cause that I believed in. A cause that was worth it. Without that, we’re lost.” — Cassian Andor

What is holding you back? Fear is a great paralyzer.

“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger; anger leads to hate; hate leads to suffering.” — Yoda

Are you ready? Really?

“Your focus determines your reality.” – Qui-Gon Jinn

Planning and designing the life you want comes with challenges and changes. Are you set up to handle the changes?

“You can’t stop the change, any more than you can stop the suns from setting.” — Shmi Skywalker.

You can't stop change, but you can learn to roll with the punches. And you don't have to do this alone. If you need help setting or reaching your goals message me and let's figure out 2018 and beyond. “Stay on target.” – Gold Five
